Vargabar - Review

Vargabar. As soon as I walked in, I can smell the coffee. This little hideaway is a perfect place to relax. Even though it is located in the heart of Newtown, but it is a wonderful quiet place with a generous amount of sunlight.

Vargabar Espresso

They offer a range of classical brunch specials like corn fritters, egg on toast, eggs benni, burger, salad and granola bars. If you enjoy the classics then this is a great place to visit. They follow the rule books, but put their own twist to it.

Corn Fritters

The corn fritters for example, it is not only filled with corns, but also paprika and many other vegetables. They are also very generous with their corns and it is quite a thick corn fitters. I personally enjoy a thinner and crispier corn fritters, but my friend truly enjoy their large portion and generosity.
Eggs Benni Salmon

Egg Porn
Their eggs benni has a very rich hollandaise sauce, very creamy and zesty. The lemon juice and salt is very distinct in flavor. Truly blends well with the salmon and egg yolk. Of course one of my guilty pleasure is to indulge in a good egg porn shot.

Tempura Fish & Chips
Vargabar just got a new kid on the block and it is their Tempura Fish & Chips. Again, it is one of the classics. You can't go wrong with a good old fish and chips. Their fish is very fresh and I can really tell from the texture of the fish.

Banana & Cinnamon Porridge

We have been talking about the classics all day, so I want to write this to you. Yes, you with a adventurous heart. My friend ordered the Banana and Cinnamon Porridge. A bowl of fresh sweet banana porridge with cinnamon on top. If you love sweet brunch menus, then this one might be worth a try.

Tumeric Latte

If I had to pick a personal favorite, it has to be their Tumeric Latte. Even though it is just a drink, but for me this one is the real deal. I have tried many Tumeric Latte all over Sydney, and only find a few of them that did it right. I think Vargabar is one of the few. I love the authenticity of their Tumeric, it is very rich in spices and you have to drink it slowly to appreciate the taste. Most Tumeric Latte in Sydney has too much milk. Vargabar played it smart, by adding a little bit of coconut milk instead, giving the spices an even richer taste.

Their coffees are also quite special. Why, not only are they delicious, they have a cup to remember. With pin-up girl prints on their cups, it leaves quite a quirky and long lasting impression for me.

That's my review for Vargabar and I hope you enjoy it! Check out the Video link below!
